HARMON FAMILY REUNION 2005

August 5 through 8 the seven living brothers and sisters of clan HARMON gathered with their assorted children and spouses at Cedar Canyon Wesleyan Camp just outside Rapid City for a grand REUNION. It was the first time we had all been together in more than 18 years. We were joined by Honorary Big Sister Valla Vee Benedict and by Gene and Fran Lott, David's parents. It was a blessed time and many memories were made and shared. Here we share some of the pictures of a part of what went on during those halcyon days! Enjoy along with us.

We arrived at the Cedar Canyon Camp on Friday. Here are some pictures around the camp and dorm. This group also has the first ever HARMON REUNION RECORDER RACER FINALS.

As befits a family raised at a camp, we eat in the dining room, and go on adventures like a trip to Evans Plunge and Crazy Horse in a Big Yellow School Bus.

Saturday was a very big day. Off to Evan's Plunge and then a picnic in the park. Back to the Plunge and then off to see the Crazy Horse and Beautiful Mount Rushmore. Some hardy souls went back to Rushmore for the lighting ceremony.

Saturday night brings a possible talent show - possibly not. These being silent pictures, you will just have to imagine what was going on. I will say that Phil told the "Wide Mouth Frog" story to the delight of one and all.

Sunday was a time for reflection and remembrance. Sunday Morning a family service featuring a sermon by Joel with worship leader Ken. Tony shared his work as well.
Sunday afternoon and evening friends like the Seaman brothers and others joined us for a time of remembering family time and ties.

THERE WERE 53 ATTENDEES AT THIS GRAND EVENT INCLUDING THE LOTT GRANDPARENTS AND VALLA VEE.

On Monday we set out to at least the four winds. The Lotts headed west and Joel's contingent headed east. Others wended their way home. Tom's Troop had a bit of a vacation before going to Nebraska for the LUTES FAMILY REUNION. Stops at Sturgis and Mitchell were enjoyed before attending the Associated School Boards' annual convention in Sioux Falls where Tom was honored with the School Bell Award.
